GPX to Google Maps link

Upload a .gpx file to generate a shareable Google Maps directions URL. Points are sampled to fit URL limits — parsing runs locally in your browser.

Why convert GPX to a Google Maps link?

You have a GPX file from a GPS device or app and want to share the route in Google Maps.

Share any GPX route in Maps

Turn a GPX file from Garmin, Strava, or any GPS app into a Google Maps link you can open or share with anyone.

Local parsing — no uploads

Your GPX file is read entirely in the browser. It is never sent to our servers. No sign-in required.

Supports any GPX file

We read track points, route points, and waypoints. Works with exports from Garmin, Strava, OruxMaps, Locus Map, and more.

How to convert GPX to a Google Maps link

Three steps from a GPX file to a shareable Google Maps URL.

1

Upload your GPX file

Select a .gpx file from your device. We parse track, route, or waypoint data in your browser.

2

Get your Maps link

We build a Google Maps directions URL from your GPX points. Large files are automatically sampled to fit URL limits.

3

Open or copy the link

Open the route directly in Google Maps, or copy the link to share with someone who needs to view it in Maps.

Good to know

This tool is the reverse of the main converter. You start with a GPX file — exported from Garmin, downloaded from Strava, or created by another GPS tool — and want to view or share it in Google Maps.

Google Maps directions URLs have a maximum length, so if your GPX has many points we automatically sample them to about 75 representative points (start, end, and evenly spaced). The shape of the route is preserved after sampling.

All parsing runs in your browser — no sign-in required and no file size limit beyond what your browser can read. The GPX file is never sent to our servers.

When to use this tool

  • Sharing Garmin or Strava routes with non-GPS users via a familiar Google Maps link.
  • Planning group rides or hikes where some participants only have Maps on their phone.
  • Checking a downloaded GPX route in Maps before importing it onto a GPS device.
  • Converting a planned GPX route back to a Maps link for easy reference on mobile.

To view a GPX on an interactive map in the browser, use our GPX viewer.
