GPX track viewer
Upload a .gpx file to view the track on the map. Parsing runs locally — your file never leaves your device.
Why preview a GPX file before importing?
Verify your GPX route visually before loading it into a GPS app or device.
Instant map preview
Upload any GPX file and see the full route drawn on an interactive map. Verify your track before importing it into another app.
Fully local — no uploads
The GPX file is parsed entirely in your browser. It never leaves your device and is never sent to any server.
All GPX point types
We read track points (trkpt), route points (rtept), and waypoints (wpt) — compatible with exports from Garmin, Strava, OruxMaps, and more.
How to use the GPX viewer
Upload a GPX file and see your route on a map in three steps.
Select your GPX file
Click "Select GPX file" and choose a .gpx file from your device. The file is read locally.
View the track on the map
The route is drawn on the map immediately. Check the path shape and the number of points shown.
Confirm and use
If the route looks correct, import it into OruxMaps, Garmin, Xcode, or wherever you need it.
Good to know
The viewer reads track points (trkpt), route points (rtept), and waypoints (wpt). It handles exports from Garmin, Strava, OruxMaps, Locus Map, Komoot, or any standard GPX-producing tool.
All parsing runs entirely in your browser — the GPX file is never sent to our servers. No sign-in is required, and there is no file size limit beyond what your browser can handle.
The map shows the route as a colored line with point count. If the route looks incorrect, the GPX may be malformed or use a format variant not fully supported.
When to use this tool
- After converting a Google Maps route — confirm the track before importing into OruxMaps or Garmin.
- After exporting from Garmin or Strava — verify the shape and completeness of the route.
- After downloading a GPX from the web — inspect an unknown file before loading it onto a device.
- Before sharing a GPX — confirm the route looks correct before sending it to someone else.
To convert a Maps route to GPX, use the Google Maps to GPX converter. To get a shareable Maps link from a GPX, use GPX to Google Maps link.
